Ivinghoe

Ivinghoe is a small village in Buckinghamshire, set at the foot of the Chiltern Hills within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the ancient wood land of The Ashridge Estate. Formerly a town with Viking origins, hence the Old Town Hall in the High Street, the village retains many of its older buildings and its ‘English Village’ atmosphere. In the High Street you will find the Village Shop and Post Office. There is also a Florist, The Green Room, and The Windmill Pharmacy. The quintessential village green, ‘Ivinghoe Lawn’, with its Village Hub is centrally located, offering a lovely family orientated space. The much loved Rose & Crown Public House and the ever popular Ivinghoe Golf Club are also close by.

The famous Ivinghoe Beacon is situated just outside the village. A prominent hill and the site of an early Iron Age Hillfort which loves a popular place for walkers and sightseers. There is also The Pitstone Windmill, a grade II listed windmill built in the 17th Century and stands in a large field near the parish boundary of Ivinghoe and the neighboring village of Pitstone.

Brookmead is the local primary school, with The Tring School, The Cottesloe School, Aylesbury Boys Grammar School, Aylesbury High School for Girls and the Sir Henry Floyd Co-Ed Grammar School of Aylesbury within catchment for secondary education. Further amenities can be found in the market towns of Tring and Berkhamsted, both just short drives away.

Tring

Tring itself is an historic market town in Hertfordshire. Perhaps most characterised by the architectural influence of the Rothschild’s family, creating an array of homes and buildings that create admiration to this day. Dating back to the Domesday book Tring has the pleasure of not having suffered the modern over-development of some towns locally.  This makes for a charming High Street with a plethora of independent shops, restaurants and cafes.

Transport links are superb, with the A41 close by meaning access to the M1 and M25 is simple. Tring Station is a short drive away offering direct access into London Euston in circa 35/40 minutes.
